We want you to have the simplest and easiest booking experience possible, so we have gathered some common questions and answers below.

What time can I check in and check out?

Check-in times are between 2pm – 5pm. Check-out time is at 11am.

What facilities are on site?

Southwold campsite offers:

  • On pitch parking (for one vehicle only all pitches except lightweight pitches).
Can I bring my dog(s)?

Yes, our site is dog-friendly. Dogs must be kept on a lead and under proper control at all times. Some breeds of dog including those listed in the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 are not allowed on Site. You will need to provide full details of number and breeds of dogs when making your booking.

Can I bring an extra “pup” or small tent

You may bring an extra tent for storage purposes only. We can allow only one sleeping quarter per pitch (i.e. one tent, caravan, campervan, or motor home).

Do you have wifi?

Wifi is not currently available at Southwold campsite.

I need to cancel my booking, what should I do?

Please contact us as soon as possible by calling 01502 722486, or by emailing us at southwoldcampsite@eastsuffolk.gov.uk. Refund policies are defined in our Site Rules, and are subject to the amount of notice given.

I haven’t received my booking confirmation

Your confirmation will automatically be sent to the email address provided. If you still have not received this within 24 hours, please check your spam or junk folder then contact us.

I need to amend my booking, what should I do?

Please contact us as soon as possible by calling 01502 722486, or by emailing us at southwoldcampsite@eastsuffolk.gov.uk. Your booking will be non-transferable and non- alterable within 30 days of your holiday start date.

Is it possible for me to arrive after the 5pm check-in time?

Yes. The site isn’t gated after reception closes and you will have full access to your pitch. If possible, please contact us in advance with notice so that we can note this information on your booking. You will be required to check in with us as soon as possible the following morning. If you do not notify us, and your pitch is not occupied by 8.00am on the day after your scheduled arrival, we may treat your booking as cancelled and re-let the pitch.

Is there a limit on motorhome / camper van / caravan / tent size?

The pitching area for all sites within East Suffolk Council control is 4 metres wide by 10 metres long. Should your tent, caravan, campervan or motor home be too large to achieve the minimum distance you will have to hire an additional pitch at the time of booking.

Is there a limit to how many tents I can use on my pitch?

There must only be one sleeping quarter per pitch i.e. one tent, caravan, campervan or motor home. Additional pitches should be accounted for, if extra sleeping accommodation will be required, at time of booking.

Can I use a barbecue?

Barbecues using barbecue charcoal or briquettes are permitted but must be supervised at all times, disposable barbecues must be raised off the grass (paving slabs are available at the bin bays – please help yourself and return them after use).

Can I use a generator?

The use of generators is restricted for exceptional circumstances, and their use must first be approved by the site manager. Where generators are permitted, they must not be used between 10.00pm and 09.00am.

Can I have an open fire?

No, we cannot allow campfires or fire pits under any circumstances.
